The Organisation
Our client is an award-winning organisation providing capital equipment solutions into various industry sectors. Based in the West Midlands, they pride themselves on customer service and technical expertise, and offer a portfolio of high-end products for a number of manufacturing applications. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Sales Director to lead a team of industry experts and to spearhead the expansion of a specific business division as it grows in to new markets.

The Role
Reporting into the Managing Director, the Sales Director will lead a team in driving the growth of their specific business division and will devise and implement an effective sales strategy across both new business (new industry sectors), and existing accounts. The successful applicant will be a proven sales leader, owning the P&L and budget for their division, and able to motivate and develop the members of their teams. It will also be important to build strong working relationships across all stakeholders of the business.

The Candidate
In addition to having a strong commercial acumen, the Sales Director will:
- have a demonstrable track record of success in leading a successful sales team
- have experience of selling high-value capital equipment into industrial clients
- understand the complexity of consultative sales
- be adept at spotting commercial opportunity in new and existing accounts
- be a strong communicator / negotiator
- potentially have grown-up in a technical role before transitioning into a commercial position
